Area Sales Manager / Sales Manager - Southern Europe Region (m/f/d) for Packaging

Your Challenge at Start-Packaging:

As the Area Sales Manager for Southern Europe, you will spearhead our sales initiatives for packaging products, with an emphasis on glass packaging and sustainable materials, across a diverse and vibrant region encompassing Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovenia, Spain, Macedonia, and Yugoslavia.

Your Responsibilities:

Customer Acquisition:
Actively identify and secure new business opportunities, tailoring solutions to meet the varied requirements of clients across Southern Europe.

Sales Presentations:
Deliver compelling sales presentations, both in-person and virtually, creating customized offers that resonate with a diverse clientele.

Trade Shows and Events:
Represent our products at key regional trade shows and industry events, enhancing brand visibility and market presence.

Market Analysis:
Keep a pulse on the market trends and competitor activities, crafting strategies for market expansion and penetration in Southern Europe.

CRM Utilization:
Effectively manage customer relationships and sales opportunities using modern CRM systems.

Network Building:
Establish and nurture a network of sales partners, expanding our market reach and influence across the region.

Your Areas of Responsibility:

Key Account Management:
Take charge of key accounts in the packaging, food, and beverage industry within Southern Europe.

Revenue Management:
Assume direct responsibility for customer relationships and revenue targets for key accounts, devising strategic sales initiatives.

Product Innovation:
Identify new product opportunities and introduce them to your clientele, fostering long-term relationships and customer satisfaction.

Your Profile:

Educational Background:
Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field, or relevant commercial vocational training.

Professional Experience:
Solid experience in sales, especially in the packaging industry, focusing on innovative and sustainable solutions.

Language Skills:
Proficiency in local languages of the Southern European region (such as Italian, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese, etc.) along with English.

Independence and Drive:
Self-motivated and independent, enthusiastic about cultivating new business in the Southern European market.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. Relevant vocational training in a commercial discipline may also be considered.

  • Proven sales experience, particularly in the packaging industry, with a focus on glass packaging and sustainable materials.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated success in customer acquisition and relationship management across diverse European markets.

  • Ability to conduct engaging sales presentations and create customized offers to meet the varied needs of clients in Southern Europe.

  • Experience in representing a brand or products at regional trade shows and industry events.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in one or more local languages of the Southern European region (e.g., Italian, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese) along with English proficiency is essential.

Market Understanding:

  • In-depth knowledge of the business and cultural practices in Southern Europe, including familiarity with specific market conditions and trends in the targeted countries.

  • Capability to develop and implement effective sales strategies tailored to the region.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
